Sautéed Tilapia Tacos
Finally!! We got some snow! All of your haters out there that don’t like the snow, I am very sorry, but I am SO happy about it. We haven’t gotten a lick of snow since that terrible storm the Northeast had in October. I mean really, I move to the Northeast and I get NO SNOW??! Grrr… Very happy to see the white dusting on the ground this AM when I got out of bed at 5:45am. 🙂 Remember when you were younger and how you used to jump out of bed to check at your window to see if you just might have a snowday? That is how I…

The Cupcakery in St. Louis
When I was in St. Louis during the Christmas holiday I was introduced to The Cupcakery/Crave The Cup. Patrick’s sister, Kari, and her friends seem to have made going to this particular bakery a tradition whenever they are in town visiting from college. I think I rather like that tradition and I will tell you why… Normally when I go to bakery, I am very disappointed in the cupcakes. Come on, admit it…you have been there. You feel my pain. They look sooooo pretty and then it is such a let down when you take your first bite. I normally end up yelling with yuckie pieces of dry cupcake falling…

Top 9 of 2011!
I am TOTALLY copying right now from Kita at Pass the Sushi. Don’t worry, don’t worry…I asked her for her permission to copy her very cute idea for the Top 11 of 2011. She is always coming up with the best ideas! If you haven’t checked her out before, GO DO IT NOW! She is so creative and a real inspiration to anyone who wants something new and totally out of the box. Instead of doing the Top 11 like Kita did, I thought in respect to Foodbuzz that I would my Top 9 of 2011. It is always so exciting going to the Top 9 everyday to see who…

Celebrate with Cranberry Champagne
Christmas is just around the corner folks! I mean think about it. Christmas is 12 days (thanks Becci 😉 ) from now. 12 days! Holy moly…I have just about everything done. I worked on my Christmas cards the other day, I just need to get them stamped and signed and sent. CHECK! Christmas gifts, except for a few here and there things are done and wrapped. CHECK! Oh! Btdubs, I have a story for you all. My mom was telling me about going to the grocery store to get some things for her Christmas party she just had. As she was parking, she sat in her car a few minutes…

Chef to Farm Dinner at Rosedale Farms
NO I didn’t fall off the face of the earth, I am here! I haven’t posted AT ALL this week and it feels so strange…I have been pretty busy and haven’t really made anything worth mentioning on here. However, I will have some really great things for you next week. I will be attending a Halloween themed Chili Cook-Off which I am SUPER excited for. I love dressing up for Halloween I think it is a blast 😀 Btdubs, I got SNOW last night. Yes, snow. At my house. On the ground. Snow. They are predicting 8-10″ tomorrow. It is October! Don’t get me wrong, I LOOOVE snow. Like ♥…

Caprese Wraps
Whenever things are rough in my life I really try and focus on the good. That is all you can do right? If all you do is focus on the negative (which I am guilty of sometimes, I’ll admit) you will end up feeling hopeless and completely powerless to do anything to make the negative go away. So that is what I have been trying to do for the past few days, focus on the POSITIVE! I have a fantastic boyfriend (score) I have a family who loves me <3 I have a the cutest darn bunny who has the best personality (come on, how cute is he?) I have…

Spicy Asian Chicken and Noodle Soup
It is getting to be that time of year where all I want to do on the weekends is curl up with a good book, a blanket, and a bowl of soup and just lounge around. Fall is seriously my favorite time of year. I just love the cool brisk air and when the leaves that start to change. I have hoped ever since I was a little girl that I would be able to get married in the Fall. I am sure that me getting married is quite some time away right now, but a girl can dream. 😉 This soup I am sharing with you today is a…

Rainbow Sprinkle Donuts
I did it!! People I did it! Finally, I have been talking for months and months to so many of you about how I wanted to make donuts and I finally did it! Thank goodness I made them before the hurricane came through my town though. We have been without power now for 3 days. Which means, no cooking and no showering :-(. My sweet lion was nice enough to let me come over and get a shower in yesterday…thank goodness for that! This is what it looked like on either end of the street I live on…trees are down everywhere in the Northeast. From the sounds of it, the…

Stuffed Banana Peppers
The garden is just bursting with vegetables right now and I am loving every single second. I have become SUCH a vegetable eater as I have gotten older. I just don’t have the desire anymore to have a big juicy steak. The last time I actually went for meat was when I was in Kansas City and I was going to Gates BBQ, where I stuffed my face like a fat kid with some pulled pork and baked beans…mmmm, nomnoms. Other than that… ::shrugs:: I think I could really live without it. I think it has something to do with the fact that the beef just doesn’t taste the same…

Lemon-Basil Martinis
Hello all! I hope your week is going well so far. Mine is going…a tad bit busy. And we definitely had an earthquake yesterday while I was at work. Weird for CT right?! That is what I thought. I am used to the tornadoes with being from the Midwest, not so much the earthquakes though. Seems like a lot of people felt it along the eastern seaboard. The guy I sit next to goes, “is the building shaking?”…haha yup! This is a drink that I stumbled upon one time at a restaurant and I wanted to try and replicate it. It definitely wasn’t as good as I had it in…

Gates Bar-B-Q
Ever notice that when you travel to places food tends to be one of things you remember the most? Good or bad. I have been to so many different places and the food always ends up being something that sticks in my memory the most. When I went back to Kansas City to visit family and friends there was 2 places that I knew I had to go because of the food. Gates Bar-B-Q and John’s Space Age Donuts. Let me tell you that these 2 places stick in my brain the most because, well…the food is great!! I literally landed in KC at about 11:00am and went straight to…
