Maple Glazed Cinnamon Rolls
Are there certain things that your family only have around the holidays? Ever since I can remember, there would be piping hot cinnamon rolls waking me up on Christmas Morning. That smell of a fresh pastry right out of the oven sure does know how to get me out of bed. It is a tradition that my family has had ever since I can remember. Even now that I am in my late twenties, there is just nothing like that smell when you wake up on Christmas morning at your folks house, or when you walk in the door from your own home and you smell those amazing rolls. Yummm….my…

Finding Center
Hello my friends. Happy Holidays! It has been a while hasn’t it? I have to admit that things have been a little hectic and I really haven’t had much time to blog or even cook really. I have been using the time to try and get myself centered. Sometimes you need to take a break and just step back for a bit you know? Take time to just be with the people you love and focus on yourself. I am guilty of trying to do too much and not give myself enough rest. Taking a break from blogging has been my way of taking a few things off my plate…

Snickerdoodles
Are you all geared up for Thanksgiving? Can you even believe it is here already?! This year has legitimately gone faster than any other year I think I can remember. People always told me when I was younger… “time goes faster as you get older”, oh pish posh! I would think. It could not be more true. AmIright? The older I get the more I think I forget to stop and think about what I am truly grateful for. You just get so busy that you forget to remember what is right in front of you. Today is a bit of reflection for myself. If any of you are friends…

Pecan Streusel Bread
Some of the best days of Fall are spent curled up under a blanket or baking something to warm your family’s tummy on a brisk day. If I had to pick one or the other…I am not sure I could. I do enjoy both very much these days. I find as I get older the “under the blanket” option is much more appealing. π This bread I am sharing with you today is something my mom and I picked out as a good treat. It was featured in the Cooking Light magazine this past month, which was a special addition issue. Had all of their favorite recipes over the past…

Spooky Cookies
BOO! Happy Halloween! First of all, any and all of you who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy. My heart and prayers go out to you. Here in CT we didn’t get hit as badly as we did last year, thank goodness. I am not sure we could have taken 2 years in a row with so much damage from all the storms we have had. Please be safe! There are a lot of crazy things happening right now so just make sure you stay safe and smart. Can you believe that it is Halloween already? I can’t. Thanksgiving is going to be right around the corner and I then…

Pumpkin Spice Rice Krispie Treats
Hello my lovelies! Has been a while since I have posted something, but life kind of got in the way. I know you hear me out there. I had some family issues pop up which made it very hard for me to get any kind of cooking done. I won’t give you the details since it won’t do anything but make you sad. No need for that. Just if you get a spare moment, send a prayer towards my family if you can. We would gladly take all the prayers/positive thoughts we can get. So it is Fall huh? Finally my most favorite season is HERE. Lots of colorful leaves…

Cake Batter Blondies
Hello new week! Almost the end of August already can you believe it? I can hardly. Seems like this summer is FLYING by. Every week seems to come and go quicker and quicker. I am looking forward to the Fall though. I love the weather and the leaves and all that. The temperature in the Fall is my favorite. Where you can wear shorts and a sweater. Love it. Today I am going to the dentist again about my teeth and I have to admit I am a little nervous. I hope that everything goes smoothly and that there aren’t anymore hiccups. I have had enough excitement with my teeth…

He was feeling a little trapped in his current job and I am so glad that he was able to find something that he feels like he will be challenged at. So yay for Patrick! I felt so funny this am putting some cookies and blondies (recipes to come) in his lunch bag with a note on the baggie that says “I hope you have a great 1st day!”. Hehe, I am a dork like that. I…

Colors for the House
Hello everyone I trust your weekend is going well. It has been a little rainy and gloomy here, which is okay because I have been stuck inside for the past 4 days. My wisdom teeth are official out. Not fun. I have to say that if I could have skipped that part of my life I would haha. The surgery didn’t go quite as well as they had hoped. I tend to have veins that are hard to find, so that was the first hiccup. Then I ended up waking up during surgery…gah! That was not fun, I woke up and saw all of the people around me and started…

August House Update
Ever have one of those weeks where it is only Tuesday and it feels like it should be Thursday already because of all the activities you shoved into your Monday? No? Only me? π Yesterday, I managed to cram in an entire day of work, a playoff softball game at 6:45; which we unfortunately lost, but good year Sam’s. AND also went to dance from 8-1130pm. Needless to say I am feeling a bit sluggish today. My Starbucks is helping out that situation π Yes, I have a teddy bear at my desk. His name is Louie and he fights off unwanted guests for me. hehe So what else is…
