Jalapeno Turkey Burger and Baked Potato
Once again another week comes and goes my friends. Another busy week has come and gone and I must say, I am pretty exhausted. But I can’t be!! I have rehearsal tonight for the next show that the dance company is in. We have 2 shows Saturday and I am sure they will go extremely well, I just need to get some energy in the next few hours before I jet off to rehearsal. 😛 Do you ever have one of those days where you just want a meal that is super comforting and satisfying? I had one of those nights and I wanted to make something that was going…

Hello my dears! It has been a while! I have been trying to catch up on all your yummy posts. You guys have been making some NomNom-tastic stuff! KUDOS! I am getting settled down from my way too busy for comfort week last week. Things have been so out of the ordinary for me right now. Trying to stay as positive as humanly possible! Sometimes you get so busy that you forget to take time for yourself. This weekend was ALL about taking it easy and just relaxing. I was able to finish a book (Girls in Trucks), not the usual type of book I read but definitely a cute…

Ratatouille Pizza
Happy Monday all! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. The weather here was so gorgeous, I think Spring may finally be upon us. It was sunny and 70 both days of the weekend and it was truly glorious. Now in true Spring tradition it is supposed to rain the *entire* week :-(. Ah well, at least the weekend was nice and now that I have to be stuck inside for work it will be rainy. Don’t forget to stop by Becky’ s Bake Sale today and check out all the goodies that she has. Everything looks SOOOO yummy!!! Head on over and check it out and make a…

What for Dinner?
Every had one of those nights where you are SO hungry that you just can’t figure out what it is that you want to eat? I have the perfect solution for you! This always works for me… Grab your favorite wine, beer, cocktail, what have you. On your way home grab a nice loaf of Italian bread and then put this together… “Um Raven? THAT is a plate with spices on it…” Yes, yes it is! Put together your most favorite spices. Above there is salt, pepper, onion flake, red pepper flake, parsley, thyme, garlic, and oregano. Add some olive oil….and BAM! You have some dipping sauce for your fresh…

Calzones & Dance
I have great news! I auditioned for a professional dance company in Longmeadow, Mass and they want me to dance with them! AHHH! So excited! I have been a dancer since I was 2 years old and ever since I graduated from college it has been hard to find a modern dance company. I am so happy to be dancing again, I have missed it so much! The only bad part is that the rehearsals are 9:30pm on Mondays (sometimes Sunday) nights. Phew! Makes for a long evening….I normally don’t get home until just before midnight. Getting home so late last night has made me a little groggy this morning…and…

Summer Bread
Ingredients for Bread: Loaf of Italian bread (can be a day old) 3-4 tomatoes 1 green bell pepper fresh mozzarella 6-7 basil leaves 2-3 cloves garlic Olive oil (2 tablespoons or so) Preheat oven to 350 ° Now that summer is coming to a close this is what I am going to miss from the summer the most. My garden….there is absolutely nothing better to me that fresh produce from your garden. Everything tastes better, it even feels better making it when it comes from your own garden/home. This bread is something that I really enjoy and I make often during the summer because it is so tasty and just…

One of those days…
….yesterday. (that’s a good Beatles song btdubs – “btdubs” is how I say bytheway, because if you say ‘W’ out loud it can be said as “dub” – just a little fun fact about Raven 😉 ) Yesterday was one of those days where it was absolutely necessary to blast AC/DC on my way home from work…and also one of those days where I couldn’t get to the wine bottle fast enough after getting home. Whew…work has been so busy this week that I can barely keep my head above water. I literally embodied the phrase “looking like a chicken with her head cut off” yesterday. So, after having an…

Homemade Bruschetta
I find that there is nothing better than homemade food! When it is summer time and you can get ingredients from your garden…that is my favorite time of year! Ingredients: 3 fresh tomatoes 4 fresh basil leaves 2 gloves garlic 3 tablespoons olive oil salt and pepper to taste Italian bread (I prefer to use day old bread for this because you toast the bread)
