M&M Cookies
I was thinking the other day…wow, how long has it been since I have been writing on my blog? I started looking through all my old posts and pictures and noticed that it has been a year since I started RavieNomNoms. WHA?!? A year?!!! Holy frekkin’ moly right? As I was looking through my older posts I saw how much over the year that I have grown as a blogger and a cook. It is amazing! I am sure a lot of you have looked back on some of your old posts (and pictures) and thought how on earth would anyone ever want to look at this let alone read it! haha
This blog, however, has been a very positive thing in my life and I hope to continue it for quite some time. I feel like no matter what is going on in my life this blog seems to be the constant that keeps me trying new things. Think about it…do you often think about cooking new things just so you can share it on your blog? I have to admit, sometimes I do. Mostly it’s because I want to eat it haha, but I get excited when I try new things and then am able to share it with all my fellow foodies and friends.
To celebrate this one year anniversary, let’s have a cookie shall we? I look forward to many years to come of blogging adventures!
Ingredients for M&M Cookies:
- 1 cup Crisco shortening (I know very uncharacteristic of me haha)
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/2 cup mini M&Ms
Preheat oven 375ΒΊ
Cream together shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat until combined. Add combined flour, salt, and baking soda and mix until it is smooth and well incorporated.
Stir in M&Ms and drop by the tablespoon onto a ungreased cookie sheet. Press 2-3 M&Ms on top of each cookie if you want the M&Ms to show up real nice.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
And that is how the cookie crumbles folks…
I hope you all have had a fabulous week and wishing you all an even better weekend! π
OH and shout out to my girlfriend Kait, it is her birthday! ::sings:: Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to youuuu! Happy Birthday dearest Kaiiiitt! Happpppppy Birthday to youuuuuuuu!!! XO
