    Pancakes for Dinner

Thanks everyone! You all have been so sweet and supportive of Patrick and I with our new house. We are so very excited about it all and thank you all for being excited with us! Every time I look at it I get so excited now! I have to admit that when we first found out that they accepted our offer it was kind of a mix of emotions. I mean…when you buy your first house, it almost like you are saying goodbye to your childhood. I have been with my parents now for a long time and I will be going out on my own now, well with Patrick…

    Blueberry Pomegranate Muffins

1 week down of the detox. Doing well! I baked some muffins yesterday when I had my break for Sunday Dinner. 1 week to go and then I will be all done. I am going strong. Although I do miss having a piece of toast or oatmeal with my breakfast haha πŸ˜‰ I have a confession… I.am.obsessed.with.Pinterest. Like obsessed! I happened to stumble across it once or twice and then have seen a lot of foodies using it and then had a coworker mention it, so I HAD to check it out. If you haven’t ever, do so! Especially if you like pictures, it is like heaven for anyone who…

    Baked Cinnamon Swirl French Toast

Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a great time with whatever you did for New Year’s! The performance that I told you about went quite well, we actually have another performance this weekend on the 7th. Busy already in 2012! Sooooo unlike me πŸ˜‰ This recipe I am sharing with you today you are going to love, especially if you like sweet stuff for breakfast. I personally don’t really like sweet things for breakfast… ::audience gasps:: I KNOW I KNOW, it is weird! I think it is because when I was little, and I think I told you all this before, I was allergic to artificial colors and…

    Whole Wheat Waffles with Strawberries

This week is Thanksgiving and I cannot tell you how excited I am. I love the holidays! Like love them. The parties, the family, the food, the snow. Just love it. I have a lot of exciting things happening in the next couple months. Not only is it going to be Thanksgiving this week, but I am also meeting Patrick’s bother (Justin) and his wife (Lindsay) the day after the holiday. We are meeting in NYC, which should be fun. Maybe go see the Christmas tree in Rockefeller center and have a nice fancy dinner in the big apple. If you haven’t ever seen the Christmas tree in NYC, you…

    Apple Pocket Tarts

You guys are awesome! Another Top 9. I am just blown away. Thanks bunch for buzzing my Apple Bread!! I have been on a bit of an apple kick lately. There are in season you know? Not to mention I love apples…LOVE them. Like I have before, I have an apple every single day. What is that saying “an apple a day, keeps the doctor away”? Something like that anyways. I always end up getting on these kicks with different ingredients and then make a ton of things with that one ingredient. I mean did you SEE all the pumpkin things I made? Not to mention the blueberry recipes…I wanted…

    Pumpkin Coffee Cake

Ever have one of those recipes that has been used and used and used until it looks like this (see left)?? My Mom has this book she has been using since she was younger to make breads, muffins, cakes…all sorts of goodies that I enjoyed when I was growing up. It was called the “Quick Breads Cookbook” Β© 1975. How great is that? I was lucky enough this past weekend to have her share this book with me and let me use one of the recipes out of it to create a coffee cake that is just perfect for Fall. The first day of Fall was last week and I…

Baked Egg in a Tomato Boat

I have power!! Finally have power in the house. Thank goodness! I cannot tell you how glad I am that it is back, but not for the reasons you might think. The not having electricity wasn’t what really bothered me…I mean yes, it was horrible that I couldn’t cook like I wanted to, but not having TV or the lights wasn’t really that big of a deal to me. Honestly, I hardly EVER turn on the TV anyways. My life is so busy most of the time that by the time I get home at night after work, dance, softball, kickball, the gym, various errands, etc. all I want to…

    Rainbow Sprinkle Donuts

I did it!! People I did it! Finally, I have been talking for months and months to so many of you about how I wanted to make donuts and I finally did it! Thank goodness I made them before the hurricane came through my town though. We have been without power now for 3 days. Which means, no cooking and no showering :-(. My sweet lion was nice enough to let me come over and get a shower in yesterday…thank goodness for that! This is what it looked like on either end of the street I live on…trees are down everywhere in the Northeast. From the sounds of it, the…

    Triple Berry Scones

Just wanted to let you all know that the big presentation went really well on Wednesday. The staff seemed to be really impressed overall which makes me really happy. A lot of really big names in my company in that meeting, which is always a good thing right? Getting noticed by the big boys on campus. πŸ˜‰ The big show is this weekend for Eclipse! I am really excited about it! Jenn, the director, has done such a great job with building the choreography and the concept of the show. The show is based on the idea that people are so connected to technology that they sometimes lack real human…

    Oatmeal with Fruit Compote

I am back! First off, when I woke up this morning it felt like it was 3am. That was not fun haha. I found that going out to California I really adjusted well to the time difference, but the coming back to CT? The time change is being quite a pain. I thought that I would be able to adjust just as easily…not so much. πŸ˜› The weather in California was so glorious…I cannot even tell you how great of a break it was to have some actual sunshine that had warmth to it. It was in the high 60s, low 70s the whole time I was in California and…

    Cinnamon French Toast

Who doesn’t love French Toast? Especially on the weekend, I mean really…can there be anything more delicious that a couple pieces of french toast on a cold morning? When I was little this was something my Dad used to make for me a lot before school. Granted it wasn’t fancy french toast, but I ALWAYS looked forward to it. He always made us the best breakfast though! My personal favorite is when he used to make toast and he would put butter AND peanut butter (crunchy, naturally) on it. That was SO good! Really bad for you but sooooo good! haha Thanks for being awesome Dad! πŸ˜‰ For the past…

    Traditions

Does your family have traditions around the holidays? My family…. (picture above at the Liebro household – Thanks so much for having us over Christmas Eve. It was a great party.) Meet Mom and Dad. In our family there are certain traditions that we do during the Christmas season and have ever since I can remember and I thought that it would be nice to share them with you all.. We (mostly my mom) spend countless hours decorating every inch of the house with Santa figurines, stockings., and Christmas trees. Everywhere you look there is another little something that just oozes Christmas cheer. Along with the decorating my mom and…
