Easy Appetizer

I have been listening to Christmas music all day at work today…don’t judge me people! I am ready for Christmas haha…all of you know this though if you have been reading along that I have all my shopping and wrapping done…here was my little helper while I was wrapping:

Meet Lucy, aka Lulubell. Gizzy was helping too but he was actually involved in the wrapping as you can see, Lucy was just taking a nap haha….isn’t he the cutest thing? (name what Christmas Cartoon that quote is from – hint: it has to do with Peanuts and Christmas). Btdubs, Lucy and Gizzy are the best of friends…she licks him like he is her baby haha

Anyway, have you ever been invited to a party and have not been sure what to bring? Well, I was in this situation this past weekend and I came up with something that ended up being a big hit! I am one of those people who really likes to bring food to help out the hostess because well…the host is welcoming me into their home the least I can do is bring some NomNoms…knowhatI’msayin?

This is something that you could come up with whatever you have in your kitchen (basically what I did)..check it!

What Raven had in her Pantry/fridge:

  • ground sirloin (cooked and seasoned with chili powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flake)
  • cheese
  • tomato
  • salsa
  • re-fried beans (I personally prefer black beans but since this was for a party I went with what people like)
  • jalapeno
  • Tostitos Scoops!®

“OK, so what are you making Raven? There are a lot of things there”

Hold your horses I am getting there!

Take the scoops and place them on a cookie sheet or on a platter you are taking to the party. Slice the jalapeno thinly and place one slice into each scoop…

Then take a spoon and smear the re-fried beans into the scoops, gently! Those suckers break easy! Then take your ground sirloin and place a small spoonful on top of the beans.

Take your salsa and spoon just a tad of that on top of the meat. Sprinkle some shredded cheddar cheese on top and then garnish with a diced tomato.

Whenever you get to your party put them into the oven at 350° for about 5-10 minutes.

I promise these will be a hit! People really enjoyed them. They didn’t need to get a plate just pop one in their mouth and be on their way! I am totally one of those people at parties too…I love finger food at a get together. They are always really well liked.

Half way there!

(::sings:: Mele Kalikimaka is the thing to say…on a bright Hawaiian Christmas day…that’s the island greeting that we send to you, from the land where palm trees sway. Here we know that Christmas will be green and briiiight, the sun to shine by day and all the stars at night. Mele Kalikimaka is the Hawaii’s way, to say Merry Christmas to you…) <—if you don’t know that song look it up, it is by Bing Crosby
