    Homemade Salsa

Holy August Batman! Is anyone else’s garden exploding? Mine is! Every day I am bringing in more tomatoes, squash, peppers, herbs… I mean don’t get me wrong, I love having fresh vegetables and herbs right outside my door, but good lord. There could be a small farm stand at the end of my driveway and I could STILL have too much. Makes for a happy coworkers and lots of ideas for a food blogger 😉 All kidding aside I really do enjoy having a garden. It keeps me busy and I love knowing where my food comes from. Clearly anyone who knows me, knows that I am all about eating…

    Two Bean Pineapple Salsa

Whew! It has been a while! My poor blog has gotten neglected for the past few weeks. Between traveling for work, being sick and the weather being nice enough to make the grass grow…I have been a busy girl! How have you all been? I am hoping well…the nice weather has been really great to have. This winter seemed extremely long. I do love my snow, but I was ready for some sunshine. The one good thing about all the sunshine is that we get some awesome green plants and colorful flowers. I was so happy to see Patrick and my house look so green again. There is something about…

    Watermelon Black Bean Salsa

How was your 4th of  July?!  Do anything fun? Patrick and I went up to Boston to see the “Boston Pops”, aka their firework celebration on the 4th of July. We had some…interesting events that happened while we were up there haha. Just to list a few: We road the T (subway) just about wherever we went. It is convenient and cheap, so why not right? Well whilst we were on the T, there was an older gentleman (perhaps I shouldn’t call him that, just keep reading) who was having quite a sneezing attack. Such an attack that the majority of those sitting around him moved down a little in…

I am ready for Christmas haha…all of you know this though if you have been reading along that I have all my shopping and wrapping done…here was my little helper while I was wrapping: Meet Lucy, aka Lulubell. My First Canning Experience

YES! I did it! I canned for the first time ever this past weekend. I have to say, it was much easier than I thought it would be. Strangely enough, the only thing that took a good amount of time was the cooling down of the jars. I have always seen my mother canning since I was little. Jelly, tomatoes, salsa, sauce, cucumbers, peppers, anything she could, she was canning. Still does to this day. I mean even HER mother and my Dad’s mother canned! I used to watch it when I was little and the women in my family would say “some day you will being doing this too,…
