Pananas Restaurant
I woke up this morning to SUN! YAY! π
We got so much rain over the past few days. I think overall in my area we got anywhere between 6″-12″ of rain depending on where you were. That is more rain that we got all summer! Crazy…it did however make for some pretty pictures this morning as I sipped my coffee in the brisk 60 degree weather.

The reason for my post today is because I went to a restaurant last night in Agawam, Mass and I wanted to share it with you all. It was one of the better meals that I have had in western Mass so I wanted to make sure that people knew about it. Click on the picture below and it will take you to the website and the menu. It was called Pananas Restaurant.
This is a great little Italian place that I honestly did not even know was there. It is located kind of off the road so unless you are looking for it, you don’t see it. But, I am so glad we did! WOW, what a great restaurant. We started out with some cocktails (steel rail for my bf and a seven and seven for myself). They served warm bread and whipped butter with our salads (which came with our entrees). I get so angry when you go to some restaurants and they don’t serve you with bread or salad WITH your meal. So many places now, you have to pay extra. Whenever I go to a restaurant and I pay $22 a plate, I would hope they would give you a salad and bread along with the meal. Just sayin! haha
Now onto the meal…
Port wine demi glaze, truffle mashed potatoes, haricot verts (aka green beans haha) and topped with herb butter
This dish was very good. The beef was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. The truffle mashed potatoes were to die for! They were creamy and rich and the addition of that truffle?! ::kisses fingers:: muah! The port demi glaze really added the final dimension to this dish.
Jumbo Shrimp filled with crab meat stuffing served with drawn butter, roasted potatoes & grilled asparagus
This was my meal….holy stuffed shrimp Batman, was this good! First off, who does not love a little dish of butter with their meal? The shrimp was HUGE but perfectly cooked and stuffed with lump crab meat. The filling was very similar to what a crab cake would taste like. The asparagus was cooked perfectly and the small roasted red potatoes were a great addition on the side.
Overall our meals were excellent and I would definitely go back to this place. I think we enjoyed it…what do you think?
Hope you all are having a great weekend!

I hear you about the rain – we have been in a drought for four years and now my state is flooding. That dinner is the best pick-me-up for rainy days though!

I live in such a backwards city (Phoenix). While everyone else seems excited about sun after the rain, I’m always elated over a rainy day! Drinking coffee on the patio sounds perfect π

I’m not in the western part of the state very often, but I will keep it in mind for when I am!

Love the photos you included at the beginning of the post – esp. the habanero plant. We make it to western Mass. every few years (Stockbridge area) , but I’m not familiar with Agawam – anyways, the stuffed shrimp looks mighty fine! We’re finally getting some rain here, Yay!
