Pumpkin Spiced Latte
We are official one month away from my wedding. Well technically 29 days today… AH!! I would like to take a moment and thank caffeine for getting to me where I am now. Without it? I am not quite sure that I would be alive at this point. No joke. Something about Fall though…makes me happy. SO happy! I love leaves, the cool weather, the going back to school (even though I have been out of school for yeaaaars). Wasn’t going back to school so much fun! Well for like a week, but still the back to school shopping and all that jazz! I also love Halloween and Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving…

Peach Necatrine Butter
Oh, Hey… What’s up? Long time no blog. Can we chat for a second? I just wanted you to know it is nothing personal. I don’t hate you, or dislike you even. In fact, I care for you very much. It just, well… Things get in the way sometimes. Sometimes there’s this thing called life, that acts like a tornado and rips through your life and tosses around all your belongings, even that lamp you love that your soon to be hubby hates. It’s kinda crazy. And little annoying. Scratch that, SUPER annoying. My life has been a jumbled mess of decisions, wedding planning, renovations, work and just life. Napkins,…

Pumpkin Honey Beer Bread
Happy Halloween!!! What are you being for Halloween? I have a party that I am going to on Saturday, and I will make sure to post some pictures on Instagram for you all to see. 🙂 Lots of things have been happening this month. October is my favorite month, always has been. But this October 2013 has run me ragged! I was so lucky to have one of my maids of honor come this past weekend to spend some time with me and visit the wedding venue to discuss what our next moves needed to be. I even tried on some wedding dresses! AHHH! Went for something completely on the…

Pecan Streusel Bread
Some of the best days of Fall are spent curled up under a blanket or baking something to warm your family’s tummy on a brisk day. If I had to pick one or the other…I am not sure I could. I do enjoy both very much these days. I find as I get older the “under the blanket” option is much more appealing. 😉 This bread I am sharing with you today is something my mom and I picked out as a good treat. It was featured in the Cooking Light magazine this past month, which was a special addition issue. Had all of their favorite recipes over the past…

Pumpkin Spice Rice Krispie Treats
Hello my lovelies! Has been a while since I have posted something, but life kind of got in the way. I know you hear me out there. I had some family issues pop up which made it very hard for me to get any kind of cooking done. I won’t give you the details since it won’t do anything but make you sad. No need for that. Just if you get a spare moment, send a prayer towards my family if you can. We would gladly take all the prayers/positive thoughts we can get. So it is Fall huh? Finally my most favorite season is HERE. Lots of colorful leaves…

Caramel Apple Cookies
Happy Thursday everyone! Although it isnt so happy for me. I am stuck at home with a double ear infection as well as a sinus infection. Needless to say, I am not feeling the best. I think it may have something to do with the Rugged Maniac that I completed this past weekend. My 3rd and final race down! However, I don’t think the ice cold pools of dirty water were good for me. Seems kind of strange that only 2 days later I came down with some pretty serious infections. Hmmm…linked perhaps? I think so. The race was hard and definitely physically demanding. A step above the Warrior Dash…

Apple Upside Down Cake
I did it!! I completed my first race! WOOO!! The race I participated in was called the Tavern Trot and all the proceeds went to Alex’s Lemonade Stand, which I just love. Anything I can do to help out kids with cancer, or anyone with cancer I am all about it. It was actually a 3.5 mile race. I thought it was a 5k, but apparently it was a little farther. So here were my results: Ran 3.5 miles in 33:06 (9:28 pace) 16th out of 81 in my age group 66th out of 409 for females I am so proud of myself!!!!! This is the one time that I…

Pumpkin Coffee Cake
Ever have one of those recipes that has been used and used and used until it looks like this (see left)?? My Mom has this book she has been using since she was younger to make breads, muffins, cakes…all sorts of goodies that I enjoyed when I was growing up. It was called the “Quick Breads Cookbook” © 1975. How great is that? I was lucky enough this past weekend to have her share this book with me and let me use one of the recipes out of it to create a coffee cake that is just perfect for Fall. The first day of Fall was last week and I…

Traditional Fall Treat
I don’t know about you but when I was little one of the things that I REALLY looked forward to during the Fall was caramel apples. I remember coming home from school when my mom had made them fresh and it was like the best surprise in the world. Grabbing one of those gooey treats and biting into was just Fall to me. The real trick was trying not to get it all over myself. Somehow I always managed to get caramel in my hair…haha, sorry Mom. Although, I have to admit that kids with sticky fingers is one of the cutest things ever. They have no idea what to…
