Bunny Booty

Do you ever have those weeks where you wake up on Monday morning and wish it were Friday already???

I am having one of those days today.

I’m just not feeling this being grown up and going to work thing. I am so over it.

In an effort to try and keep myself at least a tad bit interested in this week, which I have to admit I am failing at miserably haha, I present to you Bunny Booty.

No, not THAT kind of Bunny Booty…

The sweet kind with popcorn and candy πŸ™‚

This is a recipe that I saw and that was SO cute that I just had to make it. It is really simple and takes literally less than 30 minutes to pull together (including the packaging).

I can’t take credit for this recipe because I did find it on another blog, you can click on “recipe” and it will take you to the original.

I just thought it was such a cute idea that I wanted to try it too!

The best part about this recipe is that you can make it your own. So many ways to make it just a little more your style.

Have fun!

Ingredients for Bunny Booty:

  • 2 bags Newman’s own 94% fat free plain popcorn popped (no butter or salt added)
  • 12 oz white candy melts (can find these at Michaels)
  • 1/4 cup butter flavored Crisco
  • 2 cups salted pretzels, lightly broken (any shape you like)
  • 1-12oz bag of pastel colored M&Ms (you can find these ANYWHERE this time of year)
  • Yellow and Purple Sprinkles

In a large bowl place your popcorn (without the kernels), broken pretzels, and M&Ms. Toss together lightly.

In a smaller bowl put your candy melts and the Crisco. Place in a microwave heating on high for 30-45 second intervals. Make sure you take out the candy melts to stir them each time your interval is over. You want to slowly heat the candy and you also do not want it scalding hot. Heat just until it is smooth.

Drizzle half of the melted candy over top of the popcorn mixture. Toss the mixture together lightly with a spatula. Add the remaining candy and mix together until everything is nice and evenly coated.

Lay out on a baking sheet lined with wax paper or parchment (easier for clean up). Sprinkle with your yellow and purple sprinkles of choice until it looks how you want.

Let this mixture sit for about an 30-45 minutes until it is completely hardened.

Once it is hardened you can place in clear party bags and wrap with ribbon for Easter treats to give out. Depending on how much you fill each bag will determine how many bags you will need.

How easy is that? You could have your kids help with this OR feed it to your kids. Something I am sure they would enjoy for Easter.

You can even make these treats for any time of the year! We know that M&Ms have all sorts of colors. You could do Christmas, Halloween, or even St. Patty’s Day!
