Steak Pita
I am officially on Day 3 of my detox and I feel awesome! No, I am not being sarcastic and yes, I am totally shocked! Before I started I felt so lethargic and just weighed down. I cannot tell you how much more energy I have in just the first few days of doing this. What a difference! Not only that, but my mood has gotten better since I have been on it. SHEESH! If I knew it was going to be this awesome, I would have done it a long time ago!
My first 2 days looked a little like this:
It was really easy actually. I have been doing a lot of prep work the night before so that I can just come home and reheat things or cut things up for dinner time. Normally I head to the gym about 3 times/week so it made it so much easier to just have it all ready for myself. Sometimes, I even had to force myself to eat. I can’t believe it!! No joke, I can eat. Seriously, like larger portions than any girl that is 5’3″ should ever be able to consume haha. I have been drinking so much water that I find myself not really needing as much food. I used to drink a ton of water and then it just kind of dropped off for whatever reason. I am glad I have gotten back into it. It does great things for your skin π
Anyways, just wanted to give you all an update on my detox adventures! Thanks for all the support I have been getting from all of you, it is so appreciated! π Stay tuned…
Before I went on the Detox I made some steak pitas that I am going to share with you. I accompanied them with some sweet potato fries, yum! I have just found a new love for sweet potatoes lately. I have no idea why. I think it is because when Tino took me out for my birthday his dinner came with these delicious roasted potatoes and sweet potatoes were included. Ever since then I have been on this strange kick! haha, do you ever get like that?? I definitely do, I tend to have one thing and then go crazy on it and then leave it alone for a while (you will see that I also am using feta in this post which I just recently did haha). What can I say? Sometimes I am a creature of habit.
Ingredients for Steak Pita:
- Steak (any cut you like, preferably thinner)
- Feta
- Low fat/olive oil Mayo
- Roasted red peppers
- Feta
- Romaine lettuce
- Wheat Pita Pockets
- Garlic
- Olive Oil
- Pepper to taste
Take your feta, mayo, and pepper and combine them in a small bowl to make a spread for your pita. After you have done that. Cut your pitas in half and then gently spread the mayo on the inside of the pocket. Super easy right?
In a medium sauce pan put olive oil and garlic and let cook for a few minutes, take your meat (salt and pepper each side) and place right into hot pan. While that is cooking fill your pockets with lettuce and roasted red peppers.
Then all you do is place the meat into the pocket and you have a steak pita!
(For the fries – all I did was cut them into strips, add some olive oil, salt, and pepper. Cooked them at 375ΒΊ for about 25 mins and they were all done)
Happy Wednesday Everyone! Hope you are having a great week thus far! π

I know I don’t either. I have really been forcing myself to drink lots of water. I thought it would be really hard but it wasn’t so bad.

Thank you very much! I know I thought it was going to be really awful, and I will admit it is pretty hard not to use salt when I cook, but I have gotten used to it!
