Hello all! I am on Day 8 of the detox! I am trusting you are having a grand start to your week. Mine was not so grand, I have to admit. Work has been less than desirable for the past 2 days. Lots of issues and stress that has been really keeping me very very busy. I wanted to update you all on my progress! So far so good! We are still going strong and it is Day 8. I can’t believe that things are still going so well but they are. This weekend was very hard for me. I am used to baking on Saturday. That is normally my…

    Red Velvetine Cupcakes

Happy Valentine’s Day!! I hope you are all having a wonderful day so far and that your honey is treating you well! 🙂 I am currently on Day 1 of my Detox and it is going well so far. I am really excited and really focused so we shall see how it goes. I wanted to make some yummy treats before I went on this detox because I knew that I wouldn’t be able to enjoy candy on Valentine’s day. So I made Red Velvet Cupcakes with buttercream frosting. HOLY MOLY! What a way to kick off my detox. They were absolutely delicious! I was kind of scared that they…

    Artichoke & Feta Stuffed Chicken

What a depressing weekend for Steelers fans…I myself am a Steelers fan because I lived in PA for a while. I was closer to Philly, but I really didn’t like the Eagles…so I went with the other team. I went to college closer to Pittsburgh than Philly anyway. I was so disappointed, I really felt like Pittsburgh was the better team but because of interceptions and fumbles we just got killed. I think on everything else in the game the Steelers really outplayed the Packers. Especially on the run game…but Ben just threw those interceptions and every time he did the Packers monopolized and scored. That is super hard to…

    Got PB?

Hello! I am back from Detroit! UGH, what a trip that was! Literally the day I left it was snowing once again in CT haha. What a winter we have had! They were canceling flights left and right at Bradley Airport, but for some reason the only flight that seemed to still be leaving was my Delta flight to Detroit, haha. Once I got to Detroit the weather wasn’t that bad at all. I was really surprised. Normally Detroit has much more snow than us by this time. They maybe had 6″ on the ground? and that was at most 6″…but not for long! While I was there, Detroit got…

Once again the Northeast is supposed to be hit with a really bad snowstorm this afternoon into tomorrow. I seriously don’t know where we are going to put all the snow! haha, I think I may have prayed a littttle to hard for snow this year. After this storm we are going to have 4 feet of snow on the ground, which is awesome! You know what else it is awesome?! When someone cooks you dinner…there is just nothing like getting dinner made for you in my opinion. I mean, don’t get my wrong, I LOVE to cook but sometimes it is nice to have someone else do the work…

    Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies

Yes, not mint chocolate chip ice cream, but mint chocolate chip COOKIES! I know what you are thinking…”Rave, that sounds pretty weird. Not sure about that” …trust me, if you like mint and chocolate you will like these cookies. I was having one of those weekends when I really wanted to try a new cookie out and so I thought about all the things that I really love. Peanut butter…but I make those cookies all the time so I scratched that idea. Chocolate, OK that’s always a keeper :-). Caramel…yes, adore…buuuuut maybe not this time. EUREKA! Mint! Mint and chocolate is one of those combinations that I just cannot get…

Dear New England Drivers, It is not necessary to drive 12 mph to work when there is a little precipitation on the ground. It is also not safe to SLAM on your brakes as often as you do in slippery conditions. If you just use the pedal on the right to make the car accelerate…you should be good to go. Sincerely, A fellow New England Commuter Holy cow, heeellllooo ice storm! I drove in this morning and it took me an hour and 20 minutes to get into work. It normally takes me about 35 minutes haha. WOW! Thanks Mother New England! Thank goodness I am inside now, for all…

Good Monday Morning to you all! I am super sleepy this morning and I have no idea why…I hate mornings like that where no matter what you do you still seem to be tired. This weekend was pretty low key. My parents took me to an early birthday dinner at a restaurant called Mill on the River. What a fantastic dinner this was! My dad is going to be out of town the entire week, and since my birthday is on Wednesday we thought it would be a better idea to go out the weekend before my birthday to celebrate. BOY did we! The food was absolutely outstanding, I mean…normally…

    SNOW DAY!

Can you believe it?! I actually got a snow day! WOOOHOOOO! I am 25 (5 days until I am 26, ah!) and I got a snow day! Holy moly what a day it was too! The area I live in easily got 36″ of snow. I am not joking you when I say it is probably the biggest snowstorm I have ever seen. It started snowing at about 3am on Wednesday morning, I woke up at 6am to find out I had NO WORK, yesssssssss! The snow was steady until about 7pm that night and then it finally tapered off. I was literally outside shoveling snow probably 4 times yesterday.…

Hello all! I know I have been kinda MIA again…this week is absolute craziness for me because my co-worker is out for 2 weeks. So I am having to do all of his work on top of all of mine. Makes for some busy days. Needless to say I have been so busy that I haven’t really made any yummy food lately :-(. COMPLETE bummer! Between the performances that are going on with the dancing company, rehearsals, work, and just daily life I have completely slacked on the making food front. I am just so exhausted when I get home from work that I barely can even make myself go…

    Steaks – Cast Iron Style

Happy Thursday! This week has been seriously nutty. Seems like it is so busy for me. Maybe it is because everyone is just getting back to work from the holidays, which always causes all sorts of pandemonium. Or at least it does at my office. I feel like getting back to my daily grind and schedule, I guess I didn’t realize how busy I really am. Craziness! I feel like there is just so much going on this month…so many birthday’s (including my own), traveling for work, young professional events, celebrations. GAH! All families have those months where all the birthday’s/anniversary’s/big news seems to happen all at once. January is…
