Winter Brussel Sprouts & Onion Sauté
Happy December! Seriously where in the world has this year gone? I apologize for my lack of posts this year… I have had a lot of change happening. Good change I think, but change none the less. My new job is going well, it is SO new to me, but thankfully I work with a lot of really supportive people. It is nice to know that people are there to work with you and not against you. Changing jobs has literally turned my life upside down..my schedule has changed, I have had many personal struggles and new hurdles to try and conquer this year. To say the least. Changes is…

Mushroom PepperJack Bison Burgers w/ Zucchini Chips
It’s Burger Month!! #burgermonth Kita over at Girl Carnivore has an amazing line up for 30+ bloggers that are all posting burgers for the month of August. I have been lucky enough to know Kita for many years now, she is my food blogging idol. I was lucky enough to be one of the bloggers she included!! Kita is awesome, and also owns Pass the Sushi. Check this girl out. Her recipes are EPIC! Of course, it being burger month I had to come up with something worthy of the event. To me having burgers in the summer is a must. Growing up in Kansas City (Kansas NOT Missouri), you…

Homemade Crockpot Applesauce
So hey! Happy Cinco de Mayo! I don’t have a fancy Mexican inspired dish for you, unless you want to count the cinnamon. But technically I think it needs to accompany chocolate to be considered “Mexican inspired”. We are having a Taco Tuesday to celebrate, but I want to talk Apples. Do you ever have so many apples that you don’t know what to do with them all? We always have apples in our house, because I could literally eat one just about every single day! Patrick and I live close to so many amazing orchards that it is hard not to have them all the time. However, sometimes we…

Paleo Banana Bread
Meet Teddy! My cuddly little ball of fur that I welcomed into my home on April 18th! This little nugget was born on February 23rd 2015, and at 9 weeks old he is already 12lbs! He is going to be a monster 🙂 It has been quite an adjustment the past few days. Teddy has been giving us a run for our money, but that is ok! I am loving every second. Mornings look like this now… He is constantly underfoot. ESPECIALLY when I am in the kitchen. Which, let’s be honest…is all the time. If I’m not sleeping, at the gym, or eating…I am in the kitchen making something…

Raw Key Lime Tartlets
I can barely contain my excitement for Teddy! Who is Teddy you ask? My puppy! My Bernese Mountain Dog that Patrick and I are picking up on Saturday. All of you who follow me in Instagram and Facebook have watched the obscene display of “puppy nesting” I have been having. Is that even a thing? If not, apparently I am starting it. We have bought so much stuff for this dog and we don’t even have him yet! haha I literally feel like I am a kid waiting for Christmas morning 😀 Patrick and I have wanted a dog for so long, I mean SO long, but it never made…

Blueberry Banana Muffin Bites {Paleo}
Holy more snow Batman! We are still digging out from snow again! New England was having SUCH a mild winter and then BAM, we got like 40″+ in a week span. What is the deal? Don’t get me wrong, I do love the snow, it is gorgeous and pretty and I truly enjoy looking at it. However, when you get older the playing in the snow goes away and the cleaning it up becomes more of the deal. Oh well. It wouldn’t be so bad if Patrick was around more, but the hubs travels a lot. He is Germany right now so it is tough. BUT, he did get to…

Quinoa Pizza Crust
I am always looking for ways to have pizza and not do too much damage to my waistline. The hubs practically lived on pizza before we met, so I do my best to try and make it for him every once in a while. We eat cauliflower crust pizza at my house probably once a week because it is easy to make and great for you, but it doesn’t have the same “crunch” as normal pizza does. You know what I am talking about… The crust crunch you get when you go into a townie pizza parlor and the crust smells and tastes like it as made of angel wings.…

Roasted White Sweet Potato Fries
So this weekend we got some serious snow. Not as serious as some of the other storms we have had, but the rate at which it came down was the problem. I tend to like snow, but when you have to clean it up? Not so much fun anymore. I still think is is beautiful and since Patrick and I live in the woods, it makes for some pretty amazing views. We also tend to find some interesting prints in our snow after a big one, not sure if it is the neighbors cat or a animals from the woods. Probably a bit of both right? Speaking of critters… I…

Zucchini Brownies w/ Dark Chocolate Frosting
It is August. AUGUST! I mean good lord, where has this year gone!? Granted, I have been pretty busy. But still. Patrick and I have been working like crazy people to try and get our house ready for people to come and stay in for the wedding that is 82 days away…eeeeeee! Yikers. One of our bathrooms is completely torn up at the moment. Down to the studs. Always something isn’t it? I am glad we are doing it, because quite frankly we had some SERIOUS electrical hazards behind our walls. In just about every room we have touched. Thank goodness my Dad and Patrick know to how fix these…
