ABQ
Hello my dears! How have you been!?? How was your Labor Day? Mine was spent hiking up the Sandia Peak, but more on that later. I just wanted to do a quick post and let you know that I am alive. I haven’t posted in a while and that isn’t because I haven’t wanted to. Things have just been a little craaaazy lately. Again, no food this time, but that is alright. We are taking a break from the food posts for 2 weeks and then we will be right back in them next week. No worries, fellow foodies. BUT, I thought you all might enjoy some pictures of Albuquerque.…

I am FINALLY posting the NYC trip photos and food my friends… **Warning** This post is going to be dangerously full of pictures…proceed with caution. ::says over loud speaker:: this has been a message from your local NomNoms warning service, please stay tuned for other announcements. (yup, that happened haha) I had the best weekend ever! I went to NYC and visited with not 1, not 2, but 4! of my friends from college and high school. I most definitely needed this weekend…it was so nice to visit and see the girls and get to visit and catch up. It is always nice so catch up. Everyone is so spread…

Oatmeal with Fruit Compote
I am back! First off, when I woke up this morning it felt like it was 3am. That was not fun haha. I found that going out to California I really adjusted well to the time difference, but the coming back to CT? The time change is being quite a pain. I thought that I would be able to adjust just as easily…not so much. 😛 The weather in California was so glorious…I cannot even tell you how great of a break it was to have some actual sunshine that had warmth to it. It was in the high 60s, low 70s the whole time I was in California and…

Great Food for Great Friends
Saturday of this past weekend was a fun day…I invited over some good friends and we had a great time eating, drinking, and just socializing. Once I knew that people were going to be coming over I decided I wanted to do something a little different for dinner than what I normally do. It is always great to break from the mold :-). I know a lot of people who tend to try and stick to what they know when they have guests coming over because normally, that makes for a guaranteed good meal. ::raises right hand:: I am very guilty of this! However, this time I wanted to step…

Oat-topped Fig Muffins
Hello, hello! I have less than 3 days until I got to California! I cannot tell you how excited I am. It is going to be so nice to get a break from the normal and have a mini vacation. I am definitely counting down the days! OH and a side note, thank you to all of you who donated this weekend for my cancer walk in July…you all have been so generous and I am so grateful to have each and every one of you in my life. Your support is so amazing! This weekend was kind of hectic but not in bad way. I had a dinner/get together…

Coming down to the wire…
Yesterday I had one of my favorite suppliers for work come visit from Chicoutimi, Canada. Marc has been one of the people that I have really become friends with since I started with the company almost 3 years ago. He speaks French and has a very European “way” about him, which I really enjoy. I always love to talk to people who are from different places. I went to visit him in 2009 in Canada and it was such an experience. It was literally as far North as you can possibly get in Canada. A whopping 10 hour drive from where I work in Connecticut, but well worth the trip!…

Beer & Cake, yes please!
I know what you are thinking…”Raven, beer & cake? Those just really don’t go together!” ….. ^that is a cake plate btdubs. Just in case you were’a’wonderings. Oh, but they do! I promise you they do! Especially when the cake has nuts on it. I mean isn’t that the age old thing to do when you drink beer? Eat some nuts? Anyways…my guy is what you would call a beer man. He loooooves beer. Last year for Christmas I got him the “Beer of the Month” club, which is where Amazing Clubs sends you different beers each month (depending on how many months you purchase). They have all sorts of…

Christmas
Can you believe it? Another Christmas has come and gone…I can hardly believe it. It is like when you spend all day making Thanksgiving dinner and then everyone sits down and dinner is over in like half an hour. My Christmas was full of fun, friends, family, and food! How did I manage to find four words that started with F…ahh Four…ok I’m done haha. You know what the best part of my Christmas was?? IT SNOWED!!!! You should have seen me, and anyone who is my Facebook friend did, I was like a 4 year old when that snow started to fall as hard as it did! Seriously, you…

Holiday Party
It is Monday again…how do Monday’s always seem to creep up so fast on you? I mean really…it was just Friday! I did have a really good weekend though. My parents threw this really amazing Christmas party for some of my Dad’s coworkers. I was the bartender/tour guide/photographer of the party. OH YES! The new camera is fantastic! You should have seen me when it arrived on Saturday. I was like a little kid jumping up and down screaming “Open it! Open it!”. It came while I was helping my mom cook some food for the party and I completely stopped what I was doing to open my new present…

PSU Visit
Christmas time is here…. Ah yes, the Christmas season is back. This is one of my trees that I have so far this year (I have 2). This one is my Penn State tree. I bleed Blue & White people! I really do, if you haven’t noticed already in my numerous posts that I have made. You know what else I have??? I was not lying when I said I was a Peanuts Fan (please note how much extra I love this because they have PSU stuff on) I just recently made a trip to PSU with my girlfriends from College. It is about a 6 hour drive for me…

Patty Melt
OHMYGOSH! People are coming over and I had no idea! WHAT DO I HAVE IN THE FRIDGE?! Ok, ok, ok….think. (ever had one of these moments??? I did just recently. I had no idea that people were coming over for dinner and fun because sommeeonneee had invited people over…which wasn’t a problem because I love the people he invited, BUT I was SOOOO not prepared to feed them!!) Hmmmmmmmmm, I gotta give them some kind of an appetizer….ok, vegetables and dip will just have to do. Ok, what else do I got here…I have some sourdough bread, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, ground sirloin…I GOT IT! Patty melts!…
