Finding Center
Hello my friends. Happy Holidays! It has been a while hasn’t it? I have to admit that things have been a little hectic and I really haven’t had much time to blog or even cook really. I have been using the time to try and get myself centered. Sometimes you need to take a break and just step back for a bit you know? Take time to just be with the people you love and focus on yourself. I am guilty of trying to do too much and not give myself enough rest. Taking a break from blogging has been my way of taking a few things off my plate…

A Post For My Foodies
Dear Fellow Foodie Friends, This is a letter for all lovers of food, food bloggers, and foodies alike. Thank you! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all of your amazing features, adventures and recipes that you share with the blogging world everyday. My life would certainly not be the same without you. There is so much buzz (no pun intended ๐ ) about whether or not we food bloggers are taking value away from the food industry. Whether or not we are making a laughing stock of what it is to be a food writer. Let me tell you something… I believe that each and every…

Oatmeal with Fruit Compote
I am back! First off, when I woke up this morning it felt like it was 3am. That was not fun haha. I found that going out to California I really adjusted well to the time difference, but the coming back to CT? The time change is being quite a pain. I thought that I would be able to adjust just as easily…not so much. ๐ The weather in California was so glorious…I cannot even tell you how great of a break it was to have some actual sunshine that had warmth to it. It was in the high 60s, low 70s the whole time I was in California and…

Beer & Cake, yes please!
I know what you are thinking…”Raven, beer & cake? Those just really don’t go together!” ….. ^that is a cake plate btdubs. Just in case you were’a’wonderings. Oh, but they do! I promise you they do! Especially when the cake has nuts on it. I mean isn’t that the age old thing to do when you drink beer? Eat some nuts? Anyways…my guy is what you would call a beer man. He loooooves beer. Last year for Christmas I got him the “Beer of the Month” club, which is where Amazing Clubs sends you different beers each month (depending on how many months you purchase). They have all sorts of…

Traditions
Does your family have traditions around the holidays? My family…. (picture above at the Liebro household – Thanks so much for having us over Christmas Eve. It was a great party.) Meet Mom and Dad. In our family there are certain traditions that we do during the Christmas season and have ever since I can remember and I thought that it would be nice to share them with you all.. We (mostly my mom) spend countless hours decorating every inch of the house with Santa figurines, stockings., and Christmas trees. Everywhere you look there is another little something that just oozes Christmas cheer. Along with the decorating my mom and…

Christmas
Can you believe it? Another Christmas has come and gone…I can hardly believe it. It is like when you spend all day making Thanksgiving dinner and then everyone sits down and dinner is over in like half an hour. My Christmas was full of fun, friends, family, and food! How did I manage to find four words that started with F…ahh Four…ok I’m done haha. You know what the best part of my Christmas was?? IT SNOWED!!!! You should have seen me, and anyone who is my Facebook friend did, I was like a 4 year old when that snow started to fall as hard as it did! Seriously, you…

Holiday Party
It is Monday again…how do Monday’s always seem to creep up so fast on you? I mean really…it was just Friday! I did have a really good weekend though. My parents threw this really amazing Christmas party for some of my Dad’s coworkers. I was the bartender/tour guide/photographer of the party. OH YES! The new camera is fantastic! You should have seen me when it arrived on Saturday. I was like a little kid jumping up and down screaming “Open it! Open it!”. It came while I was helping my mom cook some food for the party and I completely stopped what I was doing to open my new present…

BBQ!
Can you believe that August is almost over?! I can’t!! This summer has absolutely FLOWN by me. I can’t believe that kids (in general, not my own haha) are going back to school and that in a few weeks the leaves will be changing on the trees! I love Fall though! I love, love, love it! I love the leaves and the cooler weather but not cold weather. We get some pretty cold winters here in the Northeast. I really think that I love Fall so much because of the feeling I get around that time of year. When I was younger, I was always getting ready to go back…

Family, Friends, & Fabulous Food
I love cooking for people. I don’t think there is anything better than when you have people you love around you enjoying a great meal. My parents hosted a get together for some close family friends who came to visit from PA. Our visitors used to be our neighbors when we lived in PA. When I was a teenager, I babysat their children (2 boys) for spending money in high school (and middle school too I believe). Let me tell you, there is nothing in the world that will make you feel older than seeing someone you used to change diapers for be, I don’t know, give or take, a…
