Hello All!Thank you all so much for putting my Sautéed Tilapia Tacos in the Top 9! What a great present for today! Because…today is a big day… I turn 27 today! Yup birthday girl here! 😀 Lucky 27, right Becci? 😉 Lots of fun things going on for me today. Some of my friends from work are taking me out to a Happy Hour after work today, which is always fun. Drinks and friends, is there anything better? I say there is not! Tomorrow, Patrick is being a doll and taking me to our favorite Sushi restaurant in Hartford called Feng. We actually had our first date there ♥ ♥.…

Orange Scented Buttermilk Scones
I feel like I haven’t posted in like a week…wait, I haven’t! haha…things have been SO busy! Thanksgiving was wonderful and very low key, which I enjoyed VERY much. I was able to enjoy it with my parents, Patrick, and some of our neighbors and it was a very lovely, and stuffed, Thanksgiving. I also was able to meet Patrick’s bother and his wife. We went out for dinner in NYC. Very interesting place we went to called the Gotham Bar & Grill. A tad on the expensive side (*ahem* with tip about $600 for 4 people, just a TAD on the expensive side 😉 ). It was really nice…

Black Bean Brownies…say what?
First off thanks so much everyone for the Top 9 today for my White Turkey Chili! I really appreciate all of your support. 🙂 What a terrible week for my Alma Mater :-(. I am so shocked and mortified by the actions of Jerry Sandusky. However, this doesn’t change my love for my Nittany Lions. We are a strong University and I know that we will come out better than before after this horrible tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with JoePa and his family as well as the families who were affected by this horrible tragedy. After all JoePa has done for the college and the students…this is such…

Apple Pocket Tarts
You guys are awesome! Another Top 9. I am just blown away. Thanks bunch for buzzing my Apple Bread!! I have been on a bit of an apple kick lately. There are in season you know? Not to mention I love apples…LOVE them. Like I have before, I have an apple every single day. What is that saying “an apple a day, keeps the doctor away”? Something like that anyways. I always end up getting on these kicks with different ingredients and then make a ton of things with that one ingredient. I mean did you SEE all the pumpkin things I made? Not to mention the blueberry recipes…I wanted…

Wedding Cake Cookies
I literally mean Wedding Cake shaped cookies 🙂 One of the girls that I work with, Kristin, is getting married on Oct 14th so the women at the office decided to throw her a small bridal shower. I made the cookies for the shingdig and my mother made the cake. I don’t have any pictures of the cake, but I assure you it was absolutely gorgeous. She is so talented. Someday I hope I am as good as she is at decorating things; at least I have her as my teacher! Kristin’s colors are purple and cream so my Mom and I wanted to make sure that the cookies and…

Chocolate Chunk Oatmeal Cookies
Another weekend has come and gone…the golf tournament last week went really well. My team and I had a fabulous time golfing. We certainly aren’t what you would call “golfers” but we definitely had fun and played some decent golf. Since I was the captain of the golf team I wanted to make sure that my team was equip with all the essentials. Music, booze, and cookies…hehe 😉 Personally, I was not a fan of how these cookies came out but everyone seemed to really enjoy them. I didn’t have any butter so I had to substitute Crisco in, which we all know changes the texture and flavor of the…

Corn on the Cob with Roasted Jalapeño Butter
Do you ever notice that sometimes things don’t work out the way you planned them to? I never planned on moving from state to state the way I have. Although I wouldn’t change it for the world. I think that moving as much as I have has really shaped me as a person. There are people and places I would have never met or seen if I hadn’t of moved from KS to PA to now CT. I was very fortunate to be able to visit with my family and friends over the July 4th holiday in KS. I miss them all terribly and sometimes it is nice to go…

Once again another week comes and goes my friends. Another busy week has come and gone and I must say, I am pretty exhausted. But I can’t be!! I have rehearsal tonight for the next show that the dance company is in. I had one of those nights and I wanted to make something that was going…
