    Almond Crusted Chicken

Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope you are all enjoying your start to your week. We have been having a slight glimpse into spring here in Connecticut, but it appears that it is going to change back to rather bitter cold by tomorrow :-(. As you all know I love snow and the cold, but there comes a time right around March that my body flips a switch and says “OK, I am done, ready for some warm weather and flip flops now!”. I really don’t think I could live in a place where the seasons don’t change, I think I would go through withdrawal. I enjoy having that switch of cold…

    Coming down to the wire…

Yesterday I had one of my favorite suppliers for work come visit from Chicoutimi, Canada. Marc has been one of the people that I have really become friends with since I started with the company almost 3 years ago. He speaks French and has a very European “way” about him, which I really enjoy. I always love to talk to people who are from different places. I went to visit him in 2009 in Canada and it was such an experience. It was literally as far North as you can possibly get in Canada. A whopping 10 hour drive from where I work in Connecticut, but well worth the trip!…

So a big thanks for featuring my recipe and another congrats for making it look so awesome! ๐Ÿ˜€ To all of you hummus haters out there…I don’t get you. I really don’t. I love hummus! Put it on a pita, put it on veggies, put it on chips, use it as spread for a sandwich….I lik’em all! Since I have been on the detox my snack in the afternoon is some veggies with hummus (which is…

Hello all! I am on Day 8 of the detox! I am trusting you are having a grand start to your week. Mine was not so grand, I have to admit. Work has been less than desirable for the past 2 days. Lots of issues and stress that has been really keeping me very very busy. I wanted to update you all on my progress! So far so good! We are still going strong and it is Day 8. I can’t believe that things are still going so well but they are. This weekend was very hard for me. I am used to baking on Saturday. That is normally my…

    Artichoke & Feta Stuffed Chicken

What a depressing weekend for Steelers fans…I myself am a Steelers fan because I lived in PA for a while. I was closer to Philly, but I really didn’t like the Eagles…so I went with the other team. I went to college closer to Pittsburgh than Philly anyway. I was so disappointed, I really felt like Pittsburgh was the better team but because of interceptions and fumbles we just got killed. I think on everything else in the game the Steelers really outplayed the Packers. Especially on the run game…but Ben just threw those interceptions and every time he did the Packers monopolized and scored. That is super hard to…

    Pizza with a Stone

Wellll helllooooo! I have been totally MIA for the past couple days, almost week actually. Holidays are crazy and time just seems to slip right on by me when the holidays are near (or here)! I was able to spend time with loved ones and friends during the holidays and the best part was, I was able to…SLEEP IN! I love to sleep…I was so happy to be able to sleep in past 6am and to not have to hear and alarm clock for 4 days straight. Oh what joy that was for me…so nice. I say all the time that it must be awesome to be a cat because…

    Turkey Burgers

I would just like to point out to all of you that there are 12 days until it is Christmas…ah! I know! Is it just me or does it feel like it was just Halloween? I mean don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas! I love winter and all that jazz, but it just seems to be going so fast. I think it feels like it isn’t winter time yet is because we have been having such warm weather here in CT. I mean today it is 49 degrees with rain! What the hell mother nature?! I am ready for snow and cold and sweaters and mittens. Can I plllleeeaaasseeee…

    Kabobs

Love summer time! Summer time to me is so much fun, not just for the sun and vacations…but for the grill! I find that if I am ever in doubt as to what I should make for dinner…I head for the grill. You can make some of the best food on the grill….although I have to admit I have had some mishaps. Like, for example, the first time I tried to make pizza on the grill. Let’s just say the people at the grocery store saw me twice in one day, one hour apart. ๐Ÿ˜› Anyways, I wanted to make something on the grill and kabobs are always a good…

    Cucumber & Sour Cream Salad

This one of my favorite recipes…has been for a really long time. My mother taught me to how to make it and her grandmother taught her how to make it. I know that many people have probably heard of it, eaten it, made it…but it is a family tradition that I wanted to share so others could maybe do that same with their family. Ingredients: 2-3 small cucumbers 1/2 cup of light sour cream (cannot really use non-fat for this it has too much liquid) 1 teaspoon pepper 1 tablespoon dill 1 teaspoon kosher salt I like to peel my cucumbers when I make this salad, but it completely up…
