Halloween Cookies
Happpppppy Halloweeeeen!! 🙂 I told you all how my goal was to make some Halloween cookies with royal icing the other day. Well? I did it! I had so many people tell me so many awful things about royal icing. How it is hard to work with, how it doesn’t taste good, how you have to have a lot of patience to work with it. The only thing I found true about all the things people said about royal icing, is that you need patience. I personally thought it was not as hard to work with as a lot of people were telling me. I mean, I am by no…

BOO! Royal Icing – AH!
I have decided this weekend to try and make cookies with royal icing. I have all these cute Halloween cookie cutters and I am geared up for my quest. Here is my worries…I have never made royal icing before! That’s right I am a royal icing beginner. My mom scared the “you know what” out of me talking about the icing. I got the “are you suuuure you want to do that?” face. So…the reason for this post is to ask for all of your help. I decided that I would use one of my fellow blogger posts to help me out. You can find the post at BrownEyedBaker. She…

Success! Homemade Ravioli
Yes! I did it! I finally made the leap and made my very own homemade pasta! I have always heard how people say that pasta made from scratch is so much better than store bought. However, I was never brave enough or frankly had enough time to make homemade pasta. Well, this weekend while I was sick and curled up in my blanket reading my book (Blood Men), that I actually finished this weekend – it is amazing how much reading you can get done if you sit still for a while, I decided that I was going to attack my fear and just do it…MAKE THE PASTA! Pasta is…

Dark Chocolate & Reese’s Pieces Cookies
So, guess who is still sick? That would be Raven :-(. Can you believe that? I am struggling, I will tell you that. I thought this would be a couple days of being sick. I got a full 4 days of being sick under my belt so far. YUCK! To say the least I got absolutely nothing done this weekend besides cooking lots of goodies. Including the yummy looking cookies that you see to the right. I saw this recipe while I was cruising around FoodBuzz and it just looked so good that I had to try it. I changed it up a little to make it a little more…

Magic Soup
It’s Thursday! Woohoo! And everyone I know is sick, booo 🙁 …I actually feel a little sick myself, icky! I hate being sick, I mean I am sure that no one really enjoys being sick. Besides the fact that you get to stay home and watch the Price is Right like I used to when I stayed home from school haha. Now, it’s just Regis and Kelly or Soaps (little fun fact – when I was younger my mom used to watch Days of Our Lives…she ran a daycare so when all the babies were taking their naps, my mom and I used to watch what Hope and Bo were…

The Mary Jane Special
Happy Monday Everyone! I would have to say that I am having a severe case of the Mondays today. Just not having a good day. Work has gotten frustrating again. Sometimes it is hard to put in all the work I do when I get no credit for it. My boss told me today that I have a 45 minute presentation to give to some sales people TOMORROW! No notice at all! Very frustrating. Anyways, this past weekend was Tino’s birthday as most of you know by the previous posts. His mom invited us over for dinner on Saturday night celebrate his birthday. We had a really nice time and…

Lattitude
🙂 I hope you all are having a great weekend so far! Tino’s birthday was a complete success…he loved the brownies and dinner was fantastic! Guess what?! He even won $100 from a scratch ticket that his Dad bought him, imagine that! So, I took Tino out to Latitude last night (see Birthday Brownies post to visit website). It was actually a really nice dinner. The restaurant was a modern place, very modern decor. It probably sat about 50 people in the main dining area and maybe 30 in the bar. Relatively a small place compared to most of the places that we have gone. Let’s start off with the…

Birthday Brownies!
Today is my boyfriend’s birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TINO! The lucky duck took the day off from work today and is currently sleeping in as I type this post. I, however, am stuck at work until 11:30. Which isn’t too bad I guess haha 😉 Anyways, he requested for his birthday that I make him brownies. Considering I just made cupcakes for his friend’s wife’s birthday I think he was all set with on the cake front because he did a lot of the taste testing, hehe. So, since it is his birthday I thought I would humor him. There is nothing too exciting about these brownies…he picked out some brownies…

Tag! You’re it!
I got tagged by Alison with these questions and I wanted to keep the game going…here is how it works, I answer the 8 questions Alison came up with, create 8 of my own, then tag 8 others to answer them! So here it goes…. 8 questions: 1) What inspired you to start a blog? It was one of my friends from college who inspired me to start. She has the greatest blog with the most amazing pictures, check her out at Kristastes on WordPress.com. The idea of having a blog never really appealed to me, in all honesty. I never really saw myself as a blogger, but when I…

Birthday and Save the Tatas cupcakes!
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! The weather here was so fabulous this weekend. A little bit on the cooler side, but overall extremely nice. I love fall weekends! This past weekend one of my bf’s friends threw a surprise party for his wife’s 30th birthday. I told him that I would bring cupcakes but I wanted to make them a little more personal for her because she is such a sweet girl. So I asked her husband what her favorite color was. He found out for me and told me it was pink. Perfect! Not only was I so excited to make pink cupcakes but it is also…

Mac and Cheese (with a surprise!)
I LOVE macaroni and cheese. It is one of those things that I just love to have on any kind of day. Rainy day, sunny day, warm day, cool day….doesn’t matter. Mac and Cheese is a SUPER comfort food for me. When I was little my mom used to make it with chopped hot dogs. That was my favorite thing in the world. She used to make it with multi-colored rotini (I love rotini) and I would pick out all the green and orange-colored ones because I thought they tasted different, even though they really don’t haha. I was a little picky when I was younger. I always thought that…

Jalapeno Burgers
Happy Thursday to you all! I am getting settled from my trip I was just on in Baton Rouge finally. I literally ate celery at lunch yesterday with a bottle of water. I was STILL full from lunch the day before at lunch time the next day. Sheesh! I wish I could have stayed longer but I don’t know if my waistline could have handled it, haha. We are still experiencing rain in the northeast which makes it hard to get out of bed, but also gives you more time to look up some new recipes for things because you are stuck inside. I had a hankering for a burger…
