What for Dinner?
Every had one of those nights where you are SO hungry that you just can’t figure out what it is that you want to eat? I have the perfect solution for you! This always works for me…
Grab your favorite wine, beer, cocktail, what have you. On your way home grab a nice loaf of Italian bread and then put this together…
“Um Raven? THAT is a plate with spices on it…”
Yes, yes it is! Put together your most favorite spices. Above there is salt, pepper, onion flake, red pepper flake, parsley, thyme, garlic, and oregano.
Add some olive oil….and BAM!
You have some dipping sauce for your fresh bread! It is simple and it is easy and you can basically make the flavor however you want! You want to add basil instead of parsley? Go right ahead! The best part is…while you are trying to decide what it is you want for dinner you are snacking a bit and for me when I am snacking I always seem to come up with ideas for things that I am wanting. No idea why haha, maybe it is one of those strange quirks I have. π
Best of luck deciding your Friday dinner!

This reminds me of days of old when I was in Italy and basically dipped dipped dipped. I actually have a bread plate dipping set that is in a box in the cupboard. I think it’s time to break it out and put it to good use π Thanks so much for the idea!

You are very welcome! A bread plate dipping set?! How amazing is that!

OMG My husband and I were JUST talking about this tonight! We love it at Carrabbas but they don’t put red pepper flakes in it! We will make it ourselves for sure though! Thanks for the reminder!
RavieNomNoms
Yes the red pepper flake is an absolute must!

I could eat bread and dipping oil like this for dinner. π Also, depending on the bread – adding a dab of balsamic vinegar is tasty too (may look scary, but it’s good!)
RavieNomNoms
Oooo I do love that to Cristina! I love the addition to balsamic to just about everything haha

I’ve been keeping dough in the fridge for nights like these. Since I have my beloved daughter and my other half that works 2 jobs I keep food stashed in the freezer, pantry what not…I’ll prep this for tomorrow which is an exciting day for Seahawks fans! One of our gameday snacks! I hope you have a good weekend my dear!
RavieNomNoms
That’s awesome, when can I come over for bread? haha π You are a smart girlie to keep all that food stored, I do the same thing. Congrats on your Seahawks win!

Anytime. We can go pick cheese at Tacoma Boys too with it and maybe you can give me new ideas for fresh veggies! And thank you! That was a good game. I’m curious to see how far we will go!

I love doing this.. but I haven’t done it in forever! I think I’m going to make a loaf of bread from the new cookbook I got for Christmas and make some of this as well π
RavieNomNoms
Oh you just must do it soon! Definitely make some bread and then post it for all of us to see!

Bread makes the world go round! I could eat a meal like that at least once a week, but I am afraid the family would freak out. “What?! No meat? No vegetables? Just bread?” I would have to remind them of the rare nights that I served just ice cream for dinner. That would quiet them down!
RavieNomNoms
Yes it does Kristin! Ice cream for dinner!? When can I come over? haha π
Magic of Spice
This is a favorite for me…in fact sometimes that is what I have for dinner π
RavieNomNoms
I do too!
