Opa-Opa!
(Just as a quick side note: I was unable to take any pictures of the sushi that I had on Thursday night with my supplier…not really one of those dinners that I could take out my camera and just randomly start taking shots, haha ;-). BUT, the sushi was amazing! I had salmon and tuna rolls mostly for the sushi…they were phenomenal.)
This weekend my boyfriend took me to the Westfield Airshow. There were so many cool planes from different eras there. You could walk right up to the planes and actually go into some of them. They had different acts where the planes flew over the crowd and did tricks. Pretty cool actually! Here are a few of the pictures I was able to get while we were there…
We had a good time…I have to admit though that we were both SO tired by the end of the day. We ended up sitting in traffic for a total of 3 hours. That was not a good time, haha. I am not one of those particularly patient people when it comes to traffic. We decided after sitting in traffic for almost 2 hours and only moving 20 feet and walking around for 5 hours at the air show….that we were going to go out to dinner. π
We decided to go to Opa-Opa Bewery in Southampton, Mass. I have never gone before and I really enjoy going to breweries. There are tons of excellent beers to drink and the food is normally pretty good. This particular brewery had a really huge selection of beer and food! Click on the pic below and it will take you to the Brewery’s website.
This Kix brew was a pale ale. I normally go for the unfiltered wheat beers, unfortunately it seemed that everyone else that day went for them too. They were completely out of the wheat beers. The pale ale did the trick though. Smooth beer. And my goodness this beer tasted amazing after such a long day!!
While we were waiting for our food the waitress brought out some molasses bread and butter. This is a dark bread and it had a very slight sweet taste. It was a perfect bread to go with our beers. It had a crispy crust while the inside was soft and warm, mmmm deeelliicious!
I think we were at the point where we were so tired that we didn’t want to get anything to eat that was too much but that we were definitely hungry. We both went with sandwiches. My boyfriend ended up getting a burger and I got a lump crab meat sandwich. Both were actually very good and just what we needed after our long day.
This meal was followed by a 9:30pm bedtime, haha π

I live near Boston, so thanks for sharing about a good restaurant in Mass! Will check it out if I am ever in the area.

My husband is a private pilot and loves all things “airplane”. That brewery sounds great. Too bad we are on the other side of the US. Will have to check it out if we make it out that way.

Airshows looks like so much fun! Never been to one. Always heard about planes crashing and that scares me just a little. But if you get a beer and sandwich at the end, it has to be amazing!
RavieNomNoms
Let me tell you Rick, when the planes starting flying towards each other I was getting really scared!! Luckily there was no REAL scares, other than me just hyper ventilating at the fact that these planes were flying hundreds of miles an hour straight at each other haha…and the beer after definitely calmed me down haha π

What a day! My husband and I travel to Boston once or twice a year but have never been to Southhampton. Will make it a point to check out Opa-Opa next time for that awesome crabmeat sandwich!

I love molasses bread MMM! I also love the photos! I’m sending my dad this link, he was in the Airforce and he goes nuts for pictures of any planes. π I’ve never been to an airshow but we have them at McChord from what I hear. Back to the food, I’m jealous and I want your sandwich! That sounds and looks SO good. π

Local breweries are so fun. We found one in Kona, HI that just made our trip, we visited 3 times! Love the Air Show shots… My husband was an instructor in the Air Force and a few of his students actually moved on to the Thunderbirds. We see the Blue Angel’s here, I always love the sounds of the engines overhead!
