Yup! It that time of year for salsa again! I am going to go without a story in this blog, sorry fellow bloggers. I am just going to let the pictures tell the story this time…enjoy!
Tomatoes, green & red bell peppers, jalapenos, banana peppers, red chili peppers
olive oil, salt, onion, and garlic - let the onions get some color over medium heat and then place in spices
Add tomato pasteAdd diced canned tomatoes - let simmerChop peppers and other ingredients while tomatoes simmer
Add ingredients into pot
Pot still on medium heat - low and slow is the motto here 😉Let salsa cook for a good 2 hours Let cool and serve
There is my salsa! I hope you enjoy it. I like mine a little on the spicier side. Feel free to leave the hot peppers out of yours…it will be just as tasty!
this looks great! the colors are awesome and I personally prefer cooked salsa over raw. I think the flavors have more time to develop. Low and slow is a good motto:)
Living in California, we love our salsa and guacamole and you make it like a native 🙂 I’m going backwards in your posts… No words necessary – your colorful photos relay the recipe beautifully!
Thank you so much!! I learned how to make salsa and guacamole from my mom, she was born and raised in California! So that is such a compliment that you say I make it like a native 😉

Sometimes all you need is some photos to show a fantastic-looking salsa like this one.

My husband was just asking for home made salsa… I never cook mine, so I guess that makes it more of a pico de gallo? Looks great!

Good call on the chiles and I agree on the “low and slow.” So many salsa recipes to try and so little time…
