Winter Brussel Sprouts & Onion Sauté

Happy December!  Seriously where in the world has this year gone? I apologize for my lack of posts this year… I have had a lot of change happening.  Good change I think, but change none the less.  My new job is going well, it is SO new to me, but thankfully I work with a lot of really supportive people.  It is nice to know that people are there to work with you and not against you.  Changing jobs has literally turned my life upside down..my schedule has changed, I have had many personal struggles and new hurdles to try and conquer this year. To say the least. Changes is…

    Grilled Corn

Hey! So remember how I used to be a food blogger?! Holy shit. Meeee too! Life has gotten in the way quite a bit. Once upon a time… Before I owned a house… Became a wife… Got a puppy… Worked full-time… I could regularly do, just that. Lately, it has been quite the struggle. Now that Patrick travels pretty much every month, a lot of the responsibility of the house falls on me. And that’s okay. It is part of it, but it definitely doesn’t leave a lot of free time for me. I am fine with being alone. I have never been one of those people that is afraid…

Corn on the Cob with Roasted Jalapeño Butter

Do you ever notice that sometimes things don’t work out the way you planned them to? I never planned on moving from state to state the way I have. Although I wouldn’t change it for the world. I think that moving as much as I have has really shaped me as a person. There are people and places I would have never met or seen if I hadn’t of moved from KS to PA to now CT. I was very fortunate to be able to visit with my family and friends over the July 4th holiday in KS. I miss them all terribly and sometimes it is nice to go…

    Garden Pasta Salad

Congrats Tino!! He just bought himself a brand new 2011 Hyundai Sonata, fully loaded SE 2.0T,  and traded in his Ford Explorer. His exploder as we called it! He is a hard core Ford guy so I have to say I was very shocked when he decided on the Sonata, but the car is really beautiful and certainly is going to get him better gas mileage than the exploder. Although, I know he will miss his big car…but I am SO proud of him for buying his first *new* car (you know how that goes, owning lots of cars in your lifetime but never a *new* car)! In spirit of…

    Garlic Fries

I have a love affair with garlic… We go together like peas and carrots, chocolate and peanut butter, lamb and tunafish! <—movie reference, I don’t really like lamb and tunafish together. Just want to make that clear haha. Seriously though, I have a really hard time not cooking with garlic. I am one of those people who can put a whole head of garlic into the oven, roast it, and then spread it on bread….YUMMMMMMIE! Or should I say NomNoms ;-). Or how about garlic and olive oil as a dipping sauce? ::kisses fingers:: MUAH! OR how about a fresh tomato salad with cucumber and garlic…. ::dreams of summer tomatoes::…

    Garlic Mashed Red Potatoes

Happy Mardi Gras everyone! I have to say I don’t have any exciting Mardi Gras recipes to share. I have been seeing all sorts of awesome King Cake recipes, that just look delicious! I do however have my beads on today at work! Welcome to my small little cube that I work in everyday…hehe, don’t laugh…you gotta have fun a little even when you are at work! 🙂 Or at least I try to, otherwise I would absolutely go crazy! I am a little bit of a dork and I like to say and do silly things. While I have to try and control that a little in the office…

    Roasted Red & Sweet Potatoes

ZZZZZzzzzzZZZZ ZZzzzz ZZZZzzzZZZZzzz I am SO tired, haha! I really need to get a good nights sleep after the weekend that I had. For some reason I feel like I just can’t get caught up. Do you ever experience that? Whew, I am beat! I could curl up with a big comfy blanket and my bunny and be all set for about 10 hours, hehe. Anyways, I promised a recipe in my last post for some roasted potatoes. Well…here it is. Let me tell you, I really feel like roasted vegetables can be the best addition to just about any meal that you have. Maybe not a pasta meal, but…

    Corn Cake

Good Monday Morning to you all! I am super sleepy this morning and I have no idea why…I hate mornings like that where no matter what you do you still seem to be tired. This weekend was pretty low key. My parents took me to an early birthday dinner at a restaurant called Mill on the River. What a fantastic dinner this was! My dad is going to be out of town the entire week, and since my birthday is on Wednesday we thought it would be a better idea to go out the weekend before my birthday to celebrate. BOY did we! The food was absolutely outstanding, I mean…normally…

    Green Beans for Any Meal

I promised you a green recipe didn’t I? Well here it is! I have a confession…I used to HATE green beans! I would refuse to eat them when I was younger, and when I say refuse…I mean RE-FUSE! The only time I started eating green beans was in college because I was too poor to eat anything but the cafeteria food when I was a Freshman and Sophomore. So needless to say, I learned to eat them in college real fast haha. Now? I love green beans! I swear as I get older my taste buds change. Oh well.. This green bean recipe is awesome for any side dish to…
