One Fact for Every Year

I am doing things a little differently today folks.

You normally come to check out what I am making to eat this week, but I thought I would change it up a bit. Keep you on your toes!!

And also, I am heading to Albuquerque this week, so I haven’t had a lot of time to cook. πŸ˜‰ We are going to see some of Patrick’s friends that live there. Will be a nice break. Definitely needed!

So today I thought I would share a 27 facts with you about myself.

One fact for every year that have been alive. I love learning about all the bloggers I read regularly, so I thought I would share some things you may or may not already know about me.

Since this will probably be my last post until after Labor Day, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!! πŸ™‚

27 Facts

  1. I am a dropper. I drop phones, glasses, plates, channel changers. Beware people, don’t let me hold anything that you aren’t upset about if it falls to the ground and shatters.
  2. I love The Little Mermaid and The Princess Bride. Still 2 of my most favorite movies even today. I used to wake up in the middle of the night when I was little and tell my mom with puppy dog eyes, “wittle mermade make me feel bettur”.
  3. Golden Retrievers are the cutest damn puppies in the world and I want one so bad!
  4. I still call my dad, “Daddy”.
  5. I just started running this year and I am planning on participating in 3-5k races. Working out is a HUGE part of my life. While I might not look like it, I spend at least part of my day, every day, doing something to keep me fit. (although as I get older, my body wants to disagree with me more and more, haha)
  6. I have been dancing since the age of 2 and dance with a Modern dance company named Eclipse in Massachusetts.
  7. My bunny Gizzy, who is 3lbs, is sometimes my shoulder to lean on when I need a good cry.
  8. I drink about 12-8oz glasses of water a day. I am pretty sure I should have been a fish.
  9. Smiling is one of my favorite activities as long as it is not for a picture. πŸ™‚
  10. I had to wait 26 years to find the love of my life, and I am glad that I waited and held onto my dream of wanting more. <3
  11. I don’t respond well to people who try and tell me what to do.
  12. More often than not, I am always going against the crowd.
  13. I <3 shoes. It is a sickness.
  14. I am extremely self conscious about my hourglass shape. 35-26-36. While everyone always says, “it’s the ideal body shape”. I refuse to believe it! …and it is so hard to find pants that fit right when your waist is 10″ smaller than your hips! haha Grrr
  15. My favorite season, by far, is Fall. I love the leaves, the cool air and all the delicious apples.
  16. I do not like Apple products. iPhone, iPad, iPod. I don’t dig it.
  17. One of my best friends in the world I have known since I was 5 years old and we hated each other when we were little, and I ended up being her maid of honor in her wedding. (we actually fought about which one of our cats had the scarier” eyes haha).
  18. To this day my Mom still makes my most favorite cheesecake. I compare all other cheesecakes to this one.
  19. I am a list maker. Seriously make lists for everything.
  20. My eyes are green with blue outlining. I know right? I should be a superhero or something.
  21. I am an aunt to 3 beautiful boys named Joey, Mikey, and Tommy. I am the cool aunt who always has fun stuff to play with in her purse.
  22. Reading books is one of my favorite hobbies.
  23. I will forever bleed Blue and White for Penn State University. Attending that college was 4 of the best years of my life.
  24. I walked 60 miles for Breast Cancer in the Susan G. Komen 3-day Walk for the Cure. It was one of the most liberating moments of my life.
  25. Reaching for a vegetable instead of meat is not uncommon for me. Actually it happens 9 times out of 10.
  26. My favorite quote is “If you tell yourself you can, or if you tell yourself you can’t, you are right either way” – Henry Ford.
  27. Cooking is my form of meditation.

That’s all folks! πŸ™‚

Have a nice trip… you should eat at The Range in Bernalillo while you are in ABQ…. have anything with green chili and you’ll be happy πŸ™‚

The Princess Bride book is my favorite book ever [and I love the movie too but AHHHH the book]…

  • Kelli @ The Corner Kitchen

What a fun list!! I can totally relate to number 14!! Over the past 6 months my body morphed into an hourglass, most noticeably my hips. I’ve had so ‘what the heck is happening to my body’ moments, I’ve lost count! Finding pants that fit usually feels like a losing battle….but I used that as an excuse to stock up on a ton of new dresses πŸ™‚

    • RavieNomNoms

Haha, isn’t that funny? I have always been an hourglass shape. Ever since I was in high school. It is just more pronounced now that I am getting older. No matter how much I work out it just stays there. haha

What a fun post! Fall and reading are some of my favorites too. I, too, compare foods to my grandma’s and my mom’s cooking– nothing is as good as they make it!

Hope you enjoy it here in Albuquerque. We’re having very warm weather. Another restaurant to try is called Chile Rio– it’s brand new, the food is fabulous, they have a huge list of margaritas, and it’s a festive place! Also, if you come across the September issue of Albuquerque the Magazine, I’m in there with one of my recipes! πŸ™‚

Ah! Those are 2 of my fav. movies too! The Princess Bride is my all time fave–and my boyfriend’s. We own 2 diff. copies and we’re going to have the theme song “Storybook Love” be our first dance song at our wedding πŸ˜›

I also use to have a bunny that I adored.

And I don’t care what you say…I would love for my waist to be so liiiittle!

    • RavieNomNoms

Oh my goodness how cute are you?! I love that that was your first dance at your wedding. That is just frekkin’ adorable!!!

Bunnies are the best aren’t they?

Haha thank you my dear πŸ˜‰

Loved reading your list my friend. Golden retrievers are the best…. I had my golden boy for almost 12 years before he passed. I still talk to him in my thoughts… he was such a sweetie. But be prepared for shedding galore! Okay.. you make me feel old… Little Mermaid came out when I was in college…I loved Prince Eric. Looks like you’ve already met your Prince. I also drink water a lot…but I’m getting closer to looking more like a rectangle than a hour glass these days (thanks to 2 kids and turning 40 a few years back). I used to make exercise a priority… pre-blog. Gotta get back to it. πŸ™‚ Have fun in Albuquerque! ~ Ramona

They are just so cute! I know, I have heard of the shedding but they are just too darn cute, I just can’t handle it haha.

You are too funny Ramona! You always make me smile hehe

Everyone was baffled that I could work in the restaurant industry for so long, as I am a dropper too! Even dropped a bowl of soup on a woman I was serving, very funny to me today:) Liked what you did today for something different….

Loved this list…learned some more great things about you. And I can only imagine how blessed all the people that interact with you on a daily basis are. You are such a warm, genuine and kind person. Thank you for sharing!

Have a safe trip Raven! I loved reading about you! I’m a dropper as well, and make lots of list, list not to forget where I placed the previous lists :))
Our daughter will be 3 in November and she’ll start dancing next week. I hope one day she’ll dance for a company, just like you

  • Kristina

Have a great holiday weekend! Love that you mixed up, haha I was laughing my whole way down the list! I can relate on so many of them! Princess Bride?? Favorite movie of all time! I am still convinced I’m going to marry Wesley…. its a problem. πŸ™‚

    • RavieNomNoms

I am glad you enjoyed it my dear! Haha!! I think I was convinced back when I was younger. I moved out of that thinking as got older. So I am OK with you having him πŸ˜‰

  • Bonnie Banters

That was fun…are you a Sagittarius…I saw a lot of similarities between us (unfortunately not age!) The first thing you mentioned is so true of me (probably all my siblings too…we’re all klutzes)! But, I’m sure anyone who reads your list will find something similar in themselves…I swear I think I started the bag/shoe craze!

  • sprint2thetable

I drop stuff like it’s my JOB. Thankfully years of softball mean that I do catch it half the time. That shattered martini glass from Wednesday wasn’t one of those times. πŸ˜‰

    Have a great trip!

I always love finding out more personal things about my favorite bloggers. I, too, love The Princess Bride and I love to read. Cooking is my meditation as well…along with reading. I hardly think that 26 years is a long time to find love but maybe I’m tainted by NY standards. Yes, Golden’s are adorable but maybe 2nd to my little King Charles Spaniel. πŸ™‚ You get zero…I repeat…ZERO sympathy for your measurements. πŸ™‚
