    Top 9 of 2011!

I am TOTALLY copying right now from Kita at Pass the Sushi. Don’t worry, don’t worry…I asked her for her permission to copy her very cute idea for the Top 11 of 2011. She is always coming up with the best ideas! If you haven’t checked her out before, GO DO IT NOW! She is so creative and a real inspiration to anyone who wants something new and totally out of the box. Instead of doing the Top 11 like Kita did, I thought in respect to Foodbuzz that I would my Top 9 of 2011. It is always so exciting going to the Top 9 everyday to see who…

    Happy Holidays!

Hello All!! How are you doing?! Did you have a good Christmas?? I hope you did! I feel like I haven’t spoken to you all in ages! It has been so busy this holiday season with traveling and all. I was so lucky this year to have Patrick take me to the Nutcracker in Boston with the Boston Ballet. It was SO much fun! I had a great time, it was so nice to see the ballet after so many years of not seeing it. It was a tradition in my family to go every year. When we moved to Philadelphia we were so disappointed with the ballet we saw…

Christmas is just around the corner folks! I mean think about it. Christmas is 12 days (thanks Becci 😉 ) from now. 12 days! Holy moly…I have just about everything done. I worked on my Christmas cards the other day, I just need to get them stamped and signed and sent. CHECK! Christmas gifts, except for a few here and there things are done and wrapped. CHECK! Oh! Btdubs, I have a story for you all. My mom was telling me about going to the grocery store to get some things for her Christmas party she just had. As she was parking, she sat in her car a few minutes…

How is everyone doing this AM? Hopefully well. I am SO glad it is Friday. Although I cannot believe that it is the 9th of December! Yowza! Has anyone noticed anything different about my blog? It has been a little colder since the start of December…I wonder if that is because of the weather (*ahem can you see the snow?). I am amazed at how quickly time flies. I have gotten all of my Christmas shopping done (besides the day I go shopping with my Dad for my Mom, I have always been the one designated as Dad’s Christmas shopping partner because I help him pick out the good stuff…

    Chicken Pepper Pasta

Hello everyone! I have been MIA this week. Been feeling slightly under the weather and I missed 2 days of work this week which has made the rest of my week pretty hectic during the day. You know whenever you miss a few days of something you just feel out of sorts? That is how I feel this week. I am sure I will get back up to speed, but it is the catching up that is the brutal part. HOWEVER! In the coming weeks I have some really exciting news to share with all of you. I don’t mean to hold you all in suspense, but I just wanted…

I feel like I haven’t posted in like a week…wait, I haven’t! haha…things have been SO busy! Thanksgiving was wonderful and very low key, which I enjoyed VERY much. I was able to enjoy it with my parents, Patrick, and some of our neighbors and it was a very lovely, and stuffed, Thanksgiving. I also was able to meet Patrick’s bother and his wife. We went out for dinner in NYC. Very interesting place we went to called the Gotham Bar & Grill. A tad on the expensive side (*ahem* with tip about $600 for 4 people, just a TAD on the expensive side 😉 ). It was really nice…

Yay Patrick! Look at you go, your Whole Wheat Waffles made the Top 9! Thanks everyone for the Top 9, I know Patrick is really excited about it. You should have seen his face when I showed him the notification on my phone this morning at 6:30am haha. Too cute! I am so excited that Turkey day is tomorrow. I think I am more excited about not having to go to work than anything else haha. Sometimes you just need a break you know? It will be nice to just spend some time with the family cooking and telling stories and then napping once we stuff ourselves with turkey hehe…

    Whole Wheat Waffles with Strawberries

This week is Thanksgiving and I cannot tell you how excited I am. I love the holidays! Like love them. The parties, the family, the food, the snow. Just love it. I have a lot of exciting things happening in the next couple months. Not only is it going to be Thanksgiving this week, but I am also meeting Patrick’s bother (Justin) and his wife (Lindsay) the day after the holiday. We are meeting in NYC, which should be fun. Maybe go see the Christmas tree in Rockefeller center and have a nice fancy dinner in the big apple. If you haven’t ever seen the Christmas tree in NYC, you…

GAH!!! ::sings:: gobble gobble goo and gobble gobble giggle, I wish turkey only cost a nickel. <—if you don’t know what that is from click here. I cannot believe how fast this year has been going. I mean really. Christmas is going to be here before we know it! I am trying to help my mom design a Christmas invitation. What do you all think of the following picture for an invite? Would you like to get this for an invite? I don’t know about you but when it starts to get around this time of year all…

This has been a sad week for me. I am sure that you all have heard about the things that have been happening at Penn State. It is almost impossible to turn on your computer or TV without seeing 10 stories about JoePa and his Nittany Lions. I am heartbroken. That is the easiest way to explain it. I am absolutely mortified and disgusted that a man like Sandusky was associated with Penn State. The crimes that he committed are completely unforgivable and I pray for the families and the boys affected; that they may someday be able to heal from this tragedy. My heart is also very heavy with…

First off thanks so much everyone for the Top 9 today for my White Turkey Chili! I really appreciate all of your support. 🙂 What a terrible week for my Alma Mater :-(. I am so shocked and mortified by the actions of Jerry Sandusky. However, this doesn’t change my love for my Nittany Lions. We are a strong University and I know that we will come out better than before after this horrible tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with JoePa and his family as well as the families who were affected by this horrible tragedy. After all JoePa has done for the college and the students…this is such…

    White Turkey Chili

Well hello there. Finally got power back last night! That brings the total to 8 days without power. Still don’t have phone or cable at my house, so that has been interesting. Just lots of movie watching going on :-). Thank goodness the power is back though. There are still some people who do not have it, so I am lucky. Remember that chili cook-off I was telling you about? It happened the night of the horrible snowstorm we had. And guess what? (no not chicken butt Patrick) I won! The chili I am sharing with you today is award winning! Ok, well not really award winning, but I did…
